★★★★★ “You know you’ve struck gold when the grown ups at a children’s show are laughing just as hard (sometimes harder) than their young charges…such is the sensitivity, wit and charm of this show, the mental health message will land with some, fly over the heads of others. Which is absolutely fine because either way you’ll have a great time”

— The Scotsman

Monkeys Everywhere is a family show created by Damien Warren-Smith (Garry Starr) and directed by the iconic Olivia Jacobs (Gruffalo, Gruffalo’s Child, Room on the Broom). In its premiere season at Edinburgh Fringe, it was nominated for The List Best Show (overall) and won The Bestie for Best Kids Show.

Monkeys Everywhere is genuine fun for all ages (and most maturities!) but it also gives audiences the language to have nuanced conversations about mental health, and deepen the way we can understand and relate to each other across social divides and generations.

NOMINEE Best Show - The List 2024

From award-winning Damien Warren-Smith (Garry Starr) and director Olivia Jacobs (The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom) comes a show for all ages and most maturities!

Monkeys Everywhere follows Damien Warren-Smith’s mischievous, acclaimed alter ego Garry Starr as he endeavours to write, but is continually distracted by the monkeys that fly through his brain.

They pop in, drive through, swing past and start monkey parties - making it impossible for him to concentrate.

Garry loves his monkeys, they fuel his creativity, but he needs to focus. How will he ever control his monkey mind? Join Garry as he finds the best way for him to be in charge of his monkeys - instead of them controlling him.

Monkeys Everywhere is a show for all ages – but especially for those who can’t always keep their monkeys under control. Directed by Olivia Jacobs (The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom) and full of clowning, silliness, play and creativity, Monkeys Everywhere is a show with real heart. It would be bananas to miss it…
